Not sure about this whole blog thing? Join the club. Turns out a lot of nonprofit folks are, well, let’s just say they are not early adopters. So, here’s a brief primer for those of you that don’t want to miss a word (Hi, Mom!).
Your easiest option is to subscribe to the blog using the subscription box in the top right corner. Through a free service, FeedBlitz, you will receive new blog entries via your email. You can press the preview button to see how they will look (FeedBlitz adds a few ads to the free delivery option, but it’s not too distracting). I just got this up and running, so I hope you will give it a try.
If you want to feel more connected to the blogosphere, use a blog reader. I have been using Google Reader, a free service that allows anyone with a google account to set up a space where you can view new posts from all the RSS feeds (syndicated web content like blogs) you choose. This also allows you to organize the information in different ways and flag or forward your favorite posts. Bloglines is another popular feed reader.
